ABOUT DENE: Farmer, gardener, photo taker, cat feeder, dog walker, expert laundry folder, God Praising, Bible Diver, Nap taker, Coffee Drinker, Blue Backer
Why is the ABOUT ME always the hardest page to write? You’d think by now I’d know who I am, but it’s still a great mystery. Maybe I should elicit the narrative for this section from a close friend, my employer, my husband or my children – but I’m afraid of what they might say! So let’s stay safe for the moment – and let me stay behind the wheel.
Years ago I provided the above description for myself on Instagram – so I guess I’ll start there…
I’m not a farmer in a professional capacity – but my husband and I have spent most of our years together on acreage, growing things like fruit/nut trees and vegetables – mostly to enjoy ourselves and share with our co-workers, who eventually began to avoid us as the summer progressed and the bags of squash and tomatoes continued to arrive. I’ll be talking more about some of our ‘farming’ endeavors and will share the links below, so stay tuned.
“Here Dene, take this home with you. Even YOU can grow this one…” Everyone in my family has a green thumb – except me. I could kill plastic plants. However, that is changing, and I have finally found a passion for gardening and can proudly claim the distinguished title of ‘gardener’.
Not quite ready to claim to be a “Photographer” – although I have sold a few images on Shutterstock– so does that make me a paid artist? Not sure… If interested, you can check out my very small collection here. You can also view my photos taken mostly around the farm and in my gardens at my Instagram page.
That would be Neo and Scooter:
And…… that would be Pepper the Wonder-Mutt – actually I just discovered she is a “known mix breed”… half Border Collie and half Labrador — A BORADORE!
Nothing fancy here – I like coffee…
Definitely my favorite place to be is in The Word.
I am a once-volunteer Citizen Police Academy member, turned paid civilian employee of our local police department… so I am a proud member of the blue family.
I may add more here over time – but that’s enough to get us acquainted I think…
Welcome to my blog… 🙂
